Here are images of six pages from the 1930 census of Mankato, Minnesota. They were downloaded from Ancestry.com, a subscription service for genealogists. Since the column headings on the images are almost illegible, the seventh file, "1930_blank.pdf", with legible headings, is included. These images are very large, so you will have to scroll horizontally and vertically to see all of the information. To return to this page, press the "Back" button on your browser.
Censuses for 1940 will not be open to the public until 2012.
On the very left of each image, reading vertically, are the street names. The next column gives the house number of the family. Page 37 contains 305 Center Street, where Duncan Ferguson was living at the time. (An interesting coincidence is that Dad and Duncan died on the same day, October 3, 1975.)
Our family was living on Carroll Street in 1930. The sixth image shows that page.
Ancestry.com has recently made available online the indexes to Minnesota births, marriages, divorces and deaths. The eighth file shows examples of what is in those indexes.
We subscribe to Ancestry.com. Most libraries have it available for free in-library.
